KAMAROAN:2014 is an experimental collaboration between the tribal artists and the designers. The focus is on how to extend the lifecycle of the artworks that reflects the culture and roots of the Gangkuo tribe. In the past, everything ended as the artist’s work was sold. Therefore the role that design plays is to introduce the fascinating stories and forms of the artwork into affordable home decor, and combined with batch production of the industrial manufacturing.
In this way, the artists’ no longer needs to invest large amount of time and effort that limited their work to high-priced galleries and small target groups. Instead, the expansion from the artworks not only extends the life cycle of each creation, but also deliver the local stories into broader distribution and customers.
